Hell. Scared the shit out of me as a kid. Bernard managed to buy the exact picture that terrified me.

I still remember visiting the largest Catholic church in Vietnam. We’d stop by the gift shop there and you can buy framed pictures of artistic depictions of heaven and hell for your home.

As I got older and more distant from my family, visiting their houses always had a shock value. The ones that were Catholic would have a shrine right at the door with as many statues of the virgin Mary and Jesus as they could fit.

Visits to my great grandma mostly involved her complaining to other family members while I was there, “David used to be such a good boy when he was young he would pray a full rosary every night.”

Then we’d lock eyes.

Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes on Father Ted. The main character, Father Ted, said, “Old women are closer to God then we’ll ever be. They get to that age and they don’t need the operator anymore.”

It’s funny ‘cause it’s true.

@roxjey: Wait. What? What are they right about you being wrong about? What are you wrong about?

I tend to see very radical religious people tell anyone that doesn't believe what they believe that they're wrong.

@aleatoric.bunny: Wait.

I have no idea what you're saying.

Pretty sure he said "I always see religious people who are more radical in their beliefs tell anyone who believes in something different that they're wrong."

@Loss_of_Motion: Ok, thanks. That actually helped a lot.

But yeah. Religion's like that, at times.

It always bothers me when someone's argument is, "If you just read the bible it just makes sense."

I cannot fathom how. Connor's pretty interested in literature and religion and so we have a copy of the bible in our house right next to all the mythology books.

Point taken, Connor.

@Widget: Man. Father Ted is so good. I really wish it went on for longer, haha. Every time I rewatch it and it just ends I feel a little sad, though better it ends on a high note, right?

Haha, I'm sorry. I'm just glad to meet another fan.
