Squidlysays(Tumblr) asked

"I love your comics. Aren’t you ever worried about your other family/co-workers seeing them, though?"

1) My coworkers often have parties that everyone goes to and then recaps the next day. They’re all really close and everything they say sounds boring as shit. How many times can a story about how drunk Jenny was be funny?

Never. Shut up.

2) I was just hanging around with Brad as he was trying to pinpoint exactly why people avoided me. When he came up with the perfect label he continued to explain why that label was so perfect.

There’s something wrong if your friends can say with such confidence that you are an asshole.

3) And I love my fans too so whatever you guys have to say to me is important to me.

I’d also like to thank everyone for their responses on the comic when I asked you to talk about your family. It’s nice to know not everyone is complaining about how much they hate how boring their parents are.

Someone once told me, and I don’t know if this was critically, that I seem to be looking for friends that were like family to me. Which might be why I have such a hard time as I tend to see most friendship pretty vacuous. And also maybe why Brad is one of my few friends left. He often joins me on family vacations but that’s also because he has problems on his end.

I would actually like to talk about Brad a bit more. I do agree, it’s nice when your friends get close enough to be like family. At that point it’s such an impressively easy-going and unconditional relationship.

thumbs up! I've also though about this so I'm glad you let us know~
I'm also interested in your workflow. like when do you draw, do you do it straight on computer or do you sketch? how much does miriam and others read?
haha, am I boring? I guess as I used to draw my own webcomic, I'm interested :)

@jonasfx: I draw when I have free time, which isn't a lot, haha. Usually while I'm doing other things like watching T.V. I'll sketch out a week's worth of comics at a time and then I just draw it straight onto the computer.

I mostly drew in the sketchbook to make sure it fit the format but since I stopped drawing in strip style, I haven't had the need to.

Miriam? She reads a lot, Connor does too. Miriam reads when she isn't writing and she tends to switch off her concentration for the day and Connor reads a lot of non-fiction whenever he gets the chance.

Haha, you're not boring. I enjoy answering questions.

@daviddoesntgetit: cool. I always used a scanner. alternating from just sketching and then doing to rest on the computer and up do basic colouring to then fill in later digitally.

I'm glad it isn't a bother. I realised with all the reply emails that I wrote quite a few comments haha

@daviddoesntgetit: Your assholism is cool to me. I usually fake like I'm interested in people. Usually I'm not and thinking about ways to stay away from them. Especially my family's friends. Does it look like I like what you like? I want to play Skryim and hang out with MY friends. Psh.
