Anonymous asked:

"Has there been anytime where you were angry and erupted in front of everyone? Or another emotional outbreaks?"

This ask came at a perfect time. I was thinking all week I should draw some more negatives sides of me since a reader just recently said they wanted me as a brother.

I don't want you guys to think I'm a paragon of virtue or anything, really. I just try my best and hope for the best.

Haha. In any case. I still get angry recalling this memory.

Oh yeah. Sorry about the lack of updates this week. I was incredibly exhausted for most of it. Two all nighters at work, jesus.

I want to hug 13 year old David.

daviddoesntgetit September 29th, 2012, 8:29 pm

@IEatTacosForDinner: Hahaha. 13 year old David's cool now.

yaoi4evandnevayuri September 29th, 2012, 11:09 pm

@daviddoesntgetit: I get angry and punch hit walls. Not with my knuckles of course. But it's only b/c people don't know when to shut up when I'm trying to calm down.

Sleepingismyhobby4ever (Guest) September 30th, 2012, 12:15 am

I got angry like that once because I asked someone to stop touching the instrument I was practicing on and he hit me in the face with one of the mallets and and told me to shut up.I really exploded then and I don't know if the way I acted about the whole situation was such a good thing to do. Oh well!

Justea (Guest) September 30th, 2012, 5:38 am

Would I be obnoxious and ruining the moment if I said that you were just hi-fiving her?

Mavi (Guest) September 30th, 2012, 5:15 pm

David, I'm sorry to say this about your own step-mother but, she seems like a TOTAL BIATCH!!! =A=*
You were totally justified for defending yourself! RAWR! \*A*/ If I was ever a relative of yours, I'd definitely side with you! I would've done the same and then SOME, if any relatives ever laid a hand on me or my brothers! Nobody disrespects my personal space or ME!!! *__* My own mother taught me that! Douglass and Bernard are awesome for having your back through all that family drama! \^_^/ I am lucky that mom is easygoing enough to where she'd sympathize (or more likely, laugh her ass off!) if she ever heard that I punched a jerk-ass relative in the face. Neither my mother or I get along that well with her side of the family so that's probably why she'd let me, lol! It's a good thing we hardly ever see them too!

Elivier (Guest) October 1st, 2012, 5:41 am

That's just a mean thing to do. Family drama is the worst because they know things about you. And they apparently know things about you that you don't even know about yourself. You know what I mean? Things always seem magnified in those early years though. Blowing things out of proportion because you don't really know how to deal with who you're becoming... I sound like an old fart.

You're a great storyteller, David. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

You can tell how mad I am by how quietly I close the door. I tried the whole rebellious teen slam door thing once, you know? YEAH. Just once. That had kind of awful consiquences and I never did it again. I subconsiously remember that when I'm super ticked off or something so I yell and storm away and close the door VERY VERY QUIETLY. Hahaha!

roxjey October 5th, 2012, 11:53 pm

i dont even know what to say to this
i mean your whole childhoood was soo.... hard to go by....

i feel really conected with youre story, maybe cuz i've seen it since you started on here (or a lil later i think)
so i really feel like.... well i worry so much about your life D:
i know everything is in the past
but God i wish someone would've done something to make things better

@yaoi4evandnevayuri: Ah. it's because people don't know you have to try even harder.

I know it's rough having a temper problem and that people don't understand how difficult it is to keep it in control. Best of luck to you whatever solution you come up with.

@Sleepingismyhobby4ever: Good username. Haha.

Man. I don't blame you for your reaction. If someone's being annoying and words don't seem to have any effect what's the next step? A punch to the face.

Haha. But you're right. Oh well. Haha.

@nemuko-tatsuya: Ah, I see. That sounds like a rather difficult scenario you were in.

Haha. Yeah. I hear ya. It's like what Mike said on Breaking Bad, no half measures. If I try to just hint like that it's pretty passive aggressive so I try to avoid it.

Oh, I'm glad they are, haha. Really, that's really great to hear. Haha. Thank you.

@Justea: HAHAHAHA. No, you didn't rin the moment. That should have been my closing argument, damn.

If I relive my life again that's what I'm going to say.

She just misinterpreted my high five!

@mavi: Ah, she's ok. She just has the emotional maturity of a 15 year old so you basically have to learn how to work around that.

That might be why Jenny's so mature.

Haha, aw. Thanks. That's good to hear. And sounds like you have a really great mom. I'm glad to hear that.

Haha, thanks.

@Elivier: Hm. Not sure I know what you mean.

Oh! I read the second half, now I get you. Yeah. It is exactly like that. Being a teenager is a pain in the ass to everyone, to yourself and those around you, haha.

@theuathor: Ah, am I? That's good. Haha, ah, thanks.

HAHAHA. Ah. That's really good.

@roxjey: Ah, my childhood was fine. It is what it is. I still get upset thinking about them but I think after telling you guys I feel pretty ok with it afterwards, haha.

Haha, aw, don't worry about me. But really, that's an incredibly sweet thing of you to say and I think you a lot for it.

It was a pretty shitty time, Douglass and Bernard really did as much as they could but it doesn't change the fact that they're the younger generation and the parents are the higher one.

Filial piety and all that shit.

i cant say im angry as often as u
people say that im too lenient sometimes and i get pushed around but im just pretty tolerant of a lot of things
i put my foot down when i rly have to though (which doesnt rly happen that often)

but i can relate to u on the latter part
that happened to me once when i was about that age too.
my dad drinks and smokes a lot and has a short temper. for him, slapping is among his ideal forms of punishment.
but unlike u hes been doing it since i was little.
as i got older he stopped doing it as much but one day he was rly angry.
he slapped me once. then he tried to slap me again but i stopped him and he started accusing me of hitting him too.
but my story is a bit different from urs
the whole time i tried to keep a serious, brave face but i couldnt.
i started crying cuz i knew what was coming next
he slapped me again. and again. then beat me.
the next day at school, i tried acting like nothing happened but i ended up crying in front of my friends at lunch.
i never told any of them.
as i read this comic, i remembered this. i started feeling angry and cried.
i dont want to feel hate anymore to the point that i want someone dead.

sorry this was longer than ur usual comments but i felt like i had to get this out. i love ur comics and theyve rly helped me broaden my perspective on a lot of things. ur comics not only help u reflect on ur life but they also help others who can relate
thx david :)

daviddoesntgetit November 16th, 2012, 7:26 pm

@AwkPenquin: Hey, no need to apologize for the length of the comment, ever. I get plenty and I enjoy them.

I see, your story is quite a read. It's a very unpleasant feeling, isn't it? Hating someone so much that you want them dead. It really is miserable.

I hope things are better for you now and I'm glad to know you enjoy the comics. I hope you continue to enjoy them and feel free to leave another long comment whenever you want!
