I think I know more about Pokemon than I should but that's because Miriam's obsessed with the series and forces me and Connor to play with her so she can do all sorts of shenanigans.

I tend to play up until the Elite Four and then stop but apparently there's quite a lot to do after that's all over.

But yeah. We went to Cox Farms on Sunday, anyone from the area know about it? It was nice meeting all the cousins again and Douglass and I were the only non-parents so the kids seemed to enjoy us more. At some point I had to juggle five kids at once while we were lost, haha. That was fun.

I really enjoyed all the kettle corn and apples that day. They had free cider. Free. There were bees all over that area but fucking free cider, dude.

...I'm oddly curious as to what your favorite Pokemon is now...

The last panel cracked me up considering I just got off a call with my gf who was crying because she is on hers. xD

daviddoesntgetit October 16th, 2012, 9:22 pm

@beldon123: Haha, er. I admit the young boy inside me really enjoys dragon type pokemon. But I also enjoy fire types, I can't seem to enjoy the game unless I have one on my team, haha.

@lil_shiro: Haha. chicks, amirite?

Haha, getting back to the topic on hand, that comment made me laugh.

Hi! I've never commented before, but I was wondering what your guys' voices sound like. I kind of imagine yours to sound like the male lead for the English dub of Princess Mononoke, except more annoyed.

Tophatt October 18th, 2012, 1:43 pm

Mareep's one of my favorites too! I'm always glad when it's a game that I can get both a Growlithe and a Mareep!

No need to feel so dorky! My friends and I are all pokemon nerds. I can name almost all 649. Not in chronological order, but almost. And All of the type advantages and disadvantages with the little tidbit that there is one pokemon that has no weaknesses and one that has one that doesn't affect it because of a skill that it has. Though Miriam can probably do the same.

So do all of your little cousins get along? Because if they didn't I would imagine grouping them together and taking them places would be a bit difficult.

Poor Miriam!! Periods are the worst.

daviddoesntgetit October 18th, 2012, 10:39 pm

@hyeonmu: Haha, what? What did it look like?

@cstar: Haha, yeah? I don't think my voice is as clean as his, but more annoyed, yes. Haha.

@Tophatt: Ah. It saddens me that I understand what you're saying, haha.

@elivier: Haha, it's not that I feel dorky. It's just my family associate pokemon with the generation below mine so they often say things to me, "You watch cartoons? Are you still a kid?" etc. while I'm watching Samurai Champloo and on screen people are getting sliced in half, haha. I just keep thinking I'm too old for this as a result.

Yeah, Miriam can. While I'm playing through the game I often ask her for help on thing. She knows all the Pokemon's types too while I can't figure out why I keep getting a "not effective". Haha.

You mean my nieces and nephews? They get along swimmingly. I have to wonder as they get older and they start developing more distinct personalities that bond starts to fade a bit. Otherwise watching them is really easy, boys, girls, 12, 6, it doesn't matter. They all seem to enjoy spending time with each other, haha.

They seem to enjoy pulling me along through the corn maze or goat village while my knees start to ache, haha.

Ah, yeah. Miriam always seems miserable when they come around but she says she only gets them every other month so at least there's that.

YOU PLAYED POKEMON TOO?! =*W*= You're just like me and my brothers then! We're all saving up money so we can play Black & White 2 and trade monsters together! RAWR!!! I'LL KICK THEIR BUTTS IN BATTLE ONCE AGAIN! \*A*/ I LOVE whoever thought up of those pokemon wooden cutouts!!! =^W^= <3 A childish part of me LOL'd at the name on the Pikachu's cap though. Sorry David! >w<;;;
Lol, I think I can relate to how you felt embarrassed around your cousin Douglass! Being the oldest sibling in my family, I feel like I have to put up a front around certain relatives too.
I don't know Douglass, but he doesn't seem the type to care if you like Pokemon or not! ^w^/ Poor Miriam. Periods are never fun. I like Mareeps too! =>w<=

daviddoesntgetit October 20th, 2012, 4:15 pm

@Mavi: Haha, I play it at Miriam's behest but yeah, I don't mind it. Haha. i just don't have as much enthusiasm as Miriam.

Ah, right! B/W 2 is out. We don't have the money for it yet either, haha.

Which reminds me, I just name my character "David" and Miriam calls me lame, haha.

Haha, it's ok that you laughed!

Ah, that's exactly it. I feel like I have to put up a front sometimes, haha. Really I'd rather just run around with the kids. It's a good thing Douglass is Douglass otherwise I'd just get a lecture, haha.

Haha, wow. That's a pretty spot on analysis of Douglass. He really doesn't care, haha. I think he was just trying to connect with me but I just got embarrassed, haha.

Periods seem like a pain in the ass. Haha.

roxjey October 20th, 2012, 5:29 pm

HAHAHA she called you bitch and wtf lol at the last line
i have a sister and i know exactly how they can get on those days

it is NOT pretty D:

Nashosaurus-Rex (Guest) October 21st, 2012, 5:26 am

I know almost all the pokemon from fourth gen. and I can name all the region's off the top of my head. Why can't I be a regular 14 year old boy?
I always seem to pick up on my mom's PMS and end up eating weird things...Damn periods...(Ketchup and macaroni?? FUQIN' TASTYLICIOUS)

daviddoesntgetit October 24th, 2012, 12:54 am

@roxjey: Haha. She calls me worse things.

Miriam hogs the bathroom when she's on her period, haha.

@Nashosaurus-Rex: What? I thought that was the exact definition of a regular, 14-year-old boy. Haha. I think if I was more Miriam or Connor's age I would know them all but I do lack that certain nostalgia, haha. I still enjoy it, just nowhere near the level of Miriam.

Haha, wow. That is exactly what the kids in our family eat. Miriam likes hot sauce on her Mac & Cheese and the kids wanted to copy her but opted for ketchup instead.

New restaurant menu item.
