It's the summer so Brad has a lot of free time since work is slow for him, so he gets off early, takes days off and just comes to my apartment to hang out while Miriam is out working and Connor is on vacation with his friends.

It's actually great 'cause since it's summer, and the kids have nowhere to go, grandma's taking a vacation so they dump their kids at my house since I work at home. I'm usually ok with it if the kids are preoccupied but one crazy ass cousin tried to drop his toddler off. I don't have time for that!

In any case, I'm sorry I haven't been updating. I've just been busy with impromptu vacation plans. I don't think I'll be taking this August off but I do have a vacation this week but I should be able to draw comics during it. I'm mostly busy 'cause I have this big update I wanted to draw while I was out for a month, but since that isn't working, I've just been working on it. Though it's recently been finished! I actually had to get Miriam to help me write, it was just really fucking hard, haha.

Miriam seemed to have fun helping me. So I hope you guys look forward to it! I think I'm ready to draw it come August but, uh. I dunno. I hope you guys enjoy it, haha, since it's gonna take a while to finish, I think.

Who knows.

Anyways, this incident with Katie has now propelled her to my favorite niece. The only other family member not that fond of Brad. Haha.

Oh, right! One last thing, that game Brad was playing with the kids is this old Vietnamese board game our mom bought for us called Co Ca Ngua. It's like Sorry, Parchessi, what have you, but varied rules.

I was looking up a picture of it and here's a picture of the exact box that our mom bought for us as kids.

Haha. Jesus fuck. That is the exact board we had.

Bernard and I loved to play it with her when we got to go visit her, I wonder if she still has it around? We played that and this thing called Bau Cua Ca Cop, it's a gambling game.

Also the exact board we have, haha. We still play it every new years. The kids play it with Bernard and they pet their New Years money converted into coins and the adults play black jack. Haha. Some of the parents that do poorly end up asking to borrow their kid's new year's money. It's a lot of fun.

Ok. Shit, I need to go to bed, I have to wake up early tomorrow to pack.

Those games remind me of this old-school Mexican card game my friend showed me. It's called Loteria, and it's kind of like bingo. I think my favorite card is El Borracho (The Drunk).
I'd leave a link but comments don't allow links, sadly.

I like how the kids call Brad "Uncle Brad" hehe.

@cstar: Huh. That game kinda looks very similar to this game I played at my Philipino friend's house, the only difference is that they use playing cards. But yeah, essentially like bingo, haha.

@Cruz_n_Angel: Haha, Brad didn't want them calling him "Mr." but the parents said they had to be polite anyways so they opted for the Vietnamese honorific with his first name.

Brad seems fine with it.
