So guys. Huge fucking news.

I'm going to be an uncle.

Bernard's been excitedly talking to me about parenting and telling me to adopt already. I'm starting to feel like I just want to be an uncle though, haha, and I've been telling Bernard to just have another kid instead of me adopting. I'm thinking after Miriam and Connor move out, I'm going to move into Bernard's house, an option Bernard has constantly reminded me.

He has a second kitchen in the basement as well as two rooms, and office, and a living room. It's fucking huge. He said the initial plan was for me and my family to live there except now I guess the plan is me and a dog... I'm just gonna be a weird uncle that lives in the basement now, I guess.

Connor's been talking to Bernard about gender identity and now Bernard is curious about not finding out about the gender until birth so the kid will grow up with all sorts of random crap.

Anyways, Bernard has been excited as shit, obviously. We're planning on heading up this weekend and telling our parents. Bernard wanted us all to come along so that should be fun. Bernard really wants a family gathering, I guess we'll see.

Our dad loves kids but I'm still curious about his reaction. He's pretty stoic. I can guess our mom's easily, haha.

Congrats to Mai and Bernard! And I hope you, Connor, and Miriam enjoy being the uncles and aunt.

So Bernard and Mai are going with a gender neutral approach?

Amazing news!!!I find it both funny and adorable that BOTH of them are glowing.XD

Yay! Congrats to Mai and Bernard! I think it's cool they are waiting to find out the gender, and that Connor brought up the point of gender identity as many soon to be parents don't give it a second thought. Thinking of how your family is so excited over the new baby reminded me of the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child..." and no matter if the baby is a boy or girl I can see they will have lots of great people to help raise them.

Congrats! I keep telling my sister the same thing: "Have a baby and then give it to me!" Haha.

Wow, this is great!
Have they thought of any names? Perhaps it's too early.

@Reealt: Seems that way. Kind've a surprise, really.

I'm excited to be an uncle, as much as I don't like to admit it. Everyone else in the family seems lukewarm about the news since so many others in our generation have had kids already, haha.

@SOABS: I know! I'm already called Uncle David but now by one more kid!

@BurstThrough: Haha, Bernard is so damned happy.

@Our Lady Bonbons: Yeah, I'm also surprise by Bernard's decision.

He told me how he's been thinking about it since I mentioned before how our dad pressuring Miriam to be feminine used to stress her out, and likewise with Connor concerning masculinity. He said it made him think how growing up our dad would yell at us to not cry and Bernard said he didn't want to be like our dad in any way, haha.

Ah, it's mostly us that's excited, all our cousins have had kids so they seem excited to start competing...

Wow, thanks. That's a really nice sentiment, haha. I hope we do a good job with this kid.

@Sir: Haha, it's easier, right?

@cstar: Ah, Bernard's thought of names for a while now. Joshua, if it's a boy, and Emily for a girl.
