I'm too tired/busy to reply to comments every time I upload a comic so I'm just gonna settle for once a week now.

Anyways, I got that half a chicken and it was great. I kept buying a quarter or a half of a jackfruit at a time but I'd end up eating it in one day. I bought an entire jackfruit and it was worth it. Except for cutting and cleaning it, huge pain in the ass.

If I have another person try to correct me that the jackfruit I'm eating is a durian, I am punching them in the gut.

To cheer me up when I used to feel like a burden from being as poor as Connor and Miriam, Brad would always tell me, "We're all wishing for your happiness so it's not big deal." I tell them the same too and it usually gets them to worrying.

When I started working, my dad always told me there's no point in having money if it's not spent, this was some time around his midlife crisis. I'm sure he meant it in a midlife crisis way, but I always took it to mean that you should spend it on people you care about.

Woah, I just looked up durians and jackfruits, I've had a durian and never realized jackfruits were a thing. I want to try one now...

I agree on the spending money on people you care about. There really is no point if the people you love can't be comfortable (with you, of course because going without makes them uncomfortable and it's a huge ugly circle)

I get as many people presents as I can for their birthdays/holidays, and there's a couple peeps in my family who get upset cuz they didn't get me anything in return (my family's big, so we usually draw lots or something and get presents for one person) but idk, I feel the same way and feel like if I have extra money I should spend it on the people I like having in my life. I try to show them that I do care by.....throwing presents at them I guess?? haha

@roxjey: It's true for every thing I say.

@Reealt: You've had durian, eh? My gag reflex is too much for it. Jackfruit is great, my favorite fruit ever also incredibly expensive. I remember seeing them grow naturally in Vietnam, it was pretty awesome and I got way excited for it as a kid.

In the summer, our mom would buy half of one and she and I would sit around and eat it after everyone else got sick of it, and we'd just sit and watch TV.

Hm?

@Dumah: Haha. Yeah, Amy would always buy me gifts for her birthday but I was always really bad at returning the favor. I don't buy gifts because I am a terrible gift giver, always. Never once have I given someone a gift they liked so I tend to not buy one unless they state exactly what they want.

Amy says she doesn't need one in return 'cause, since she's good at it, she just enjoys doing it.

Brad's also good, now that I think about it. I basically sponged off them after college.

Yeah, that's a good way of showing you care, haha. I have no such means. Well, I cook for people now.
