Ah, fish sauce. Brad has a bottle around his house now.

I like the Phu Quoc fish sauce, sometimes three crabs, and then I use the more watery Squid brand for soups and such. Fucking hate the Tipanos. My Filipino friend uses it but it might as well be water to me. I haven't bought actual Phu Quoc fish sauce but I've been there and holy shit, does it smell. I enjoyed it but it caused more than a few family members to barf on our way through.

I'm starting to think that I just like fermented shit 'cause I also like fermented bean curds a lot.

Thought I'd try drawing some comics of when Brad and I used to live together since some people asked. They'll probably go on for the next month or so in between comics of shit that happened. I notice in the past couple years, I've been more eager to go to family events just so I can get comic ideas.

Sadly, there's an upcoming wedding I can't make due to money reasons, but my cousin said I can just send a drawing of him and his betrothed. It sounds like fun too, he just invited all the cousins meaning I wouldn't have the elders asking me about Angela.

Welp.

You are right, Brad. It is so much better than fucking soy sauce. (My bf hates the way it smells though and refuses to try it or be near it or be near me when I eat it and it's all over my breath. His loss. :P)

I've never used fish sauce on my rice before, but I'm usually one to not use soy sauce in the first place. It sounds... Really good.

@Sir: Wow, everyone let's not get crazy with the soy sauce hate here. Soy sauce has its uses!

Soy sauce smells pretty terrible as well. They're all fermented crap, after all, haha. Can't say I blame your boyfriend.

But Brad did agree and said it was his loss.

@Reealt: It's just a seasoning, haha. Like, when your dish doesn't have enough sauce to flavor the rice, just put a little soy sauce in there. Depends on what dish it is, some things don't go well with fish sauce.

We used to live with a, I think, Cambodian man and he would just put fish sauce on his rice and eat that. Brad used to do that when we were really fucking poor.

Thinking back on it, my family was racist as shit to that guy. Holy shit, Jesus.

@Wolfdarling: What do you keep the rice paper for? Our grandma keeps it around 'cause the little kids like it when she deep fries them as snacks for them. Kids.

Haha, Brad says he agrees on the benefits of a Viet friend.
