I couldn't stop laughing because of Brad's extreme anger that I'd dare to suggest cooking something other than Vietnamese food.

The beef stew was a failure but I did manage to make pho ga a couple days ago. Miriam's been nauseous and she just wanted pho, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It came out well, not as sweet as our dad's, and for some reason, extremely oily and fatty.

I would like to try to make pho bo one day but what a pain in the ass.

my mom made stew every day for 3 months.

Ah, my family uses our slow cooker for jook. It's also good if someone is sick.
I highly recommend it since it's so easy to digest!

Aw, I love beef stew but we don't slow cook it and we do eat it with rice, lemon juice, and fish sauce. (We tried using a slow cooker once to make some curry, it came out nasty.)

That sounds like fun, haha. Slow cooking recipes aren't very varied usually... Although I did see some cool tea making things for slow cookers. But yeah, pulled pork, and chicken and salsa are pretty much what you find for recipes. I really want a slow cooker though, even though I'd never use it.

@soctlnad: Really? It seems like too much of a pain in the ass for me, but it is really good. I wanna make more.

I got sick of pho 'cause at our mom's house, we ate it every week but now that I'm making it, I can eat it twice a day. It's weird.

@Wolfdarling: Stew? Man. That's rough.

Haha. Brad emphatically agrees.

@Panduhr: I've made rice porridge before. I only make it when someone's sick though, or when we have some extremely salty preserved food that goes well with it, like preserved duck eggs.

@Sir: Really? You eat the beef stew with fish sauce? I did that while we were eating it, haha.

Haha. I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do with this slow cooker, I'm pretty sure I wasted my money. It can cook a bunch of things but just slower than if I just used the stove top so what's the point...

@crossstitch: Yeah, I hear that. Every time I cook it just makes me miss our dad and his cooking, haha.

@Reealt: Yeah, those dishes are basically the usual trend of what I found when looking up recipes but I can't understand the point when cooking on the stove top is so much faster... What the hell am I gonna do with this thing?

Ah, tea things? I can't drink tea, sadly, I'm really bad with caffeine so it just gives me a stomach ache.

Haha, you want mine? Only been used one and a half times. And then later used to hold Miriam's 3 Musketeer stash after Halloween.
