I know I've drawn a comic similar to this about Stephanie, but I enjoyed the fact that Stephanie knows Miriam well enough to know when a conversation is heading into a more fujoshi manner.

On a less fun note, Miriam's a pretty friendly girl and is able to make friends pretty easily. Last night she was working alone and some random guy she never met before followed her to her car talking to her all the while and asking for her number. So now he knows where she works and all that shit.

To females and victims, I'm sorry and be safe. To males and assholes, somewhere the idea got perpetuated that relentless pursuit despite constant rejection is endearing. It's not.

Well, there is this saying that every fictional character should contain traits of at least three real people... :D

As for nosy creeps - I'm sorry about that. I dunno how anyone can find it acceptable... :C

Reealt February 27th, 2015, 5:30 pm

That sucks for Miriam, on the creepy dude.
It's crazy how they don't understand rejection.

Has she ever shipped you or your siblings? And she does ship every cute guy with other cute guys?

daviddoesntgetit February 27th, 2015, 5:45 pm

@Oly-RRR: Haha, Miriam says that about writing and complains when her English class focused on what characters were based on what person the author knew like it was amazing. She says the whole point of writing is putting all your observation into the character so of course they're going to have traits of reality if you want it to be real.

She fucking hates it when people just fawn over it constantly, haha.

I... don't know either but I guess some people never take the time to think of the person on the receiving end.

@Reealt: I really hope she doesn't run into any trouble but I think I might start picking her up if she's closing by herself from now on. I'll have to ask her.

Here's Miriam:

I ship my family but it's mostly just I find their chemistry and interactions cute and I like using it as fodder, but nothing where I'm daydreaming about it or writing fanfic of them.

Haha, I SOMETIMES ship cute guys with cute guys but FUCKING STEPHANIE has got me on the ossan train so my default now is meet a cute young guy, pair him up with a non-existent older gentleman. I dunno. It's cute!

Oly-RRR February 27th, 2015, 5:56 pm

@daviddoesntgetit: I'm with Miriam there - I think everyone puts observations of real life into their writing (except really young writers maybe who want everything to be as badass and fantastic as possible)! :D In fact I used to worry that I wasn't imaginative enough because I saw traits of real people in ALL my characters but bloody hell, exactly, this is what writing is about, you watch the world and people in it, you go and put it in a fictional version of how some events might have happened.

Kind of ironic that they want a relationship but don't take time to understand even basic signals from the person on the receiving end, isn't it? Ironic as in REALLY CREEPY, cut that out, people. 8I

@daviddoesntgetit: its great that miriam has someone to unyieldingly share her interests with, unlike some ppl who are ostracized because of them
my bf jokes about me being a closet fujoshi (which im not) and showing him this comic made him think i was trying to tell him something lol

P.S. do you think you could you show us a picture of all of you irl? though i love your comic representations, itd be great to see what you guys rly look like

P.S.S. did miriam or someone else do the writing for you?
i suspect a girl did because the handwriting seems very neat and different from that of your previous comics

Lani (Guest) February 28th, 2015, 2:22 am

@Guest: Lol! XD Sorry to butt in but it's hella funny that you brought up how girls have neat handwriting. Growing up I certainly never did which is why teachers often docked my grade. Whoops. =w=;;; Thank god people prefer computers nowadays or else I'd be screwed! XD Anyway sorry for the randomness!!! Your comment just caught my eye. :3
Oh yeah, sorry to hear that your bf jokes about you liking for BL. :[ Hopefully he'll be less of a butt and just accept that if guys can like girl-on-girl stuff without their gf cracking on them about it, than he can do the same for you! :< Double standard I say! >A</

Smackjeeves keeps eating my comments after I submit them! This is the third time! Why?!?! ; _ ; Oh well that's life! Bububububu! >3> I'm going to combine my comment for the New Years comic with the one for this comic. Hope you don't mind!!! ;___;

New Year's Comic:
I DO remember snacking on sticky rice and something similar to Mut at the temple, although I am probably forgetting some (and the names) since it's been a while. ^^; Yep, definitely do remember a lot of oranges though! XD Is there some symbolism that you know of that I'm possibly missing here? OvO?
OH YEAH! Have you ever had Tang Yuan (http://www.noobcook.com/homemade-tang-yuan/)? My roomie brought some over from his family trip and DUDE, I CAN EAT THAT STUFF ALL DAY. >w< <3 <3 <3 Too bad it was all gone within two days. Ohohohoho. =w=;;; Does it go by a different name in Vietnamese?
My roomie is THINKING about having a family someday but right now he's too busy with his grad studies and jobs to ever find time to date. ^^; With the way he treats me and my brother though, he reminds me of an older brother so maybe that counts as parenting practice?? XD
Hehe, I'm like you where I do the sign of the cross whenever I am upset! OvO Isn't it amazing how such a simple movement can do that for somebody? X)
Man I wish I was better at memorizing prayers as a kid. I was sort of... distracted easily? >3>;;; You'd think a woman who's acted in plays as a teenager would do better! Lol! XD;;; As for my gramp's rosary, I tend to keep it by having my old childhood bear wear it (that gramps also gave me! <3) - that way, I never lose either of them whenever I have to move from place to place. :P
Ahhhhhhhhh. Coversfaceinhands. I feel a bit childish. >///<
I SWEAR I don't talk like this at work! DX;;; Buh. Sorry I feel sort of self-conscious today. :P Just tired from logging in countless inventory for my supervisor on my workplace's HELLA SLOW server and sometimes getting yelled at by you-know-who. =_=* At least it didn't crash this time and force us to redo stuff! TwT;

Current Comic:
I love how Miriam's mind works! ^w~/ 2x THUMBS UP SISTER! KEEP AT IT!! *w* Wouldn't mind reading some of her stories if she ever publishes them somewhere cause yanno what David? I BLAME YOU AND MIRIAM FOR CONVERTING ME TO BL! >3>/ Lolololololol. <3 Buuuuuuuut you probably knew that already. XD Ajeet's such an awesome guy. He and Miriam are great together! XD GOOD LUCK TO THEIR ENGAGEMENT x10000000! \>w</ Confetti, confetti, confetti!!! <3

Aw, hope Miriam's random guy comes to eventually forget her and don't bother her while she's at work. :/ Seriously, I sometimes had to accompany my female friends cause they were sometimes scared! :< Makes me wish I was a guy though so doing that was easier cause we BOTH know being a female makes it harder. =_=; Did I ever tell you how I got into a fight with this one guy back in high school? It was NOT pretty but thankfully he finally left my friend alone and got in trouble with the school as well. As for me, in-school suspension was SO worth it! >D
But yeah......I know that most of the time its not that easy. :[ Especially with strangers. It's not so simple as straightout telling them that "Hey man, you're coming off creepy right now." How can Miriam's random guy not think what he did wasn't creepy (following her, being nighttime, etc.)?!?! O_o;; Smh. People just don't think sometimes! :/ I ESPECIALLY HATE IT when guys keep bugging me while I'm working! I'm not in a position in to tell off or punch those who don't get the simple: "Sorry, but I'm not interested!" FLIPS TABLE!!!
Thankfully that doesn't happen often and most of the male customers/clients that I meet aren't that stupid or PURPOSEFULLY rude. =w=; Siiiiigh.

roxjey February 28th, 2015, 9:45 pm

oh miriam

cstar (Guest) March 2nd, 2015, 1:33 am

So do you (Miriam) actually write stories about the guys, or is it more like you use their antics for character inspiration?
Haha, it kind of remind me of this woman I once saw who was wearing a shirt that said something like "Warning: You may end up as a character in my novel."

yaoi4evandnevayuri March 2nd, 2015, 11:27 am

@daviddoesntgetit: The title of this is so much
'Yes'. xD Also, I don't really get out enough to pair people up. So I mainly stick to twitch streams. lol

FellowFujoshi (Guest) March 4th, 2015, 2:37 pm

Hey, a little question to Miriam : Do you upload your stories or fanfictions somewhere? If yes, can I have a link?? I ran out of books (not yay), or can you suggest some interesting books or fanfics to me?
p.s. sorry for my amateur bad english '^v^
